Discussion & Desserts --The Supreme Court During WWII
Thursday, April 9, 2026
The Supreme Court’s record during World War II presents a striking duality -- landmark protections for civil rights and civil liberties and, at the same time, shameful complicity in the disaster of Japanese-American incarceration. Both sides of that legacy are relevant and instructive in our current fraught constitutional moment. Join Cliff Sloan, a Town resident since 1996, and neighbors in the Town Hall on Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m. for a presentation, Q&A, and refreshments. Cliff Sloan is a professor at Georgetown Law School and author of The Court at War: FDR, His Justices, and the World They Made.
