.The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing for the Capital Crescent Surface Trail Phase 2 on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., to present the project details, schedule, cost estimates, and potential impacts, as well as obtain community testimony and answer questions.

On July 10, the Town Council met with representatives from MCDOT and Montgomery Parks to discuss this project, a portion of which will be located within the corporate boundaries of the Town along 47th Street and Willow Lane. The Council noted several safety concerns with the current design, and Mayor Lane will relay these concerns in testimony she will provide at the July 16 public hearing.
