Sidewalk Snow Removal Update

The Town has received numerous calls from residents asking about the schedule for sidewalk snow removal or requesting that specific sidewalks be cleared. We appreciate your patience and understand the frustration many of you are experiencing.

Unfortunately, we must be candid: the Town's sidewalk snow removal program has not performed as expected following this significant storm. Our contractor has been overextended by the scale of the weather event and has been unable to mobilize sufficient crews to perform the work.  As a result, we are unable to guarantee that all sidewalks will be cleared or redirect crews to specific areas upon request.  We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, particularly for residents who rely on clear sidewalks for safe passage.

The Town Council will discuss the sidewalk snow removal program at its February meeting to evaluate options and alternatives to the current arrangement. We are committed to finding a more reliable solution for future winter weather events.
