Elm Street Park Renovations

On Thursday March 5, 2009, Pat Burda, Chair of the Long-Range Planning Committee and Warren Rizzi of the Town Staff met with the Donohoe Development Company.  The project of renovating Elm Street Park is one of the off-site amenity requirements for the Air Rights Building’s new Hilton Hotel development.  These renovations include altering the pathways through the park (raising the pathways to protect tree roots, reconfiguring the north-south path to promote more pedestrian usage and less cutting through grassy areas, etc.), removing railroad ties, significant landscaping improvements, adding park benches, and replacing five out of the park’s nine pedestrian lights.  These new lights will be Washington Globes, the designs of which are dictated by the County.  Please find the site plans, street light locations, landscaping plans, and the County arborist evaluations for the park in the PDF links below provided by the Donohoe Development Company.  The files are very large, therefore they have been separated into 3 parts.
