Building Permit Information

The Town of Chevy Chase is a dual permitting zone.  For most projects, both a County and Town Permit are required.  The chart below details the types of projects that require permits.  Click the link under Town Permitting Information for applicable permit information, including forms, submittal requirements, zoning and development regulations, and information on the Town’s review process. 

If your proposed project encompasses more than one category below (e.g. you are constructing an addition, and a wall, and a new driveway), you may apply for all permits together, but all applicable permitting requirements for each component must be met prior to permit approval.  Alternatively, you may apply for each permit individually, though you may incur additional permitting and bond fees
