Town residents are invited to join the County's Department of Environmental Protection for a workshop on Thursday, March 27 to learn about the County’s RainScapes Program and how Town residents can participate. The workshop will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Town Hall.

The goal of the RainScapes Program is to reduce the negative effects of uncontrolled stormwater runoff. Through this program, you can receive technical and funding assistance to design and install landscaping techniques and water harvesting projects on your property.  We will begin the process of scheduling yard evaluations and follow-up project design meetings with residents who are interested in installing a RainScapes Project in their yard. Pilot projects will be explored, and funding assistance through the RainScapes Rewards rebate program will be explained. The following types of projects are eligible for funding assistance: Rain Garden, Conservation Landscape, Rain Barrel(s), Cistern, Shade Tree, Dry well, Permeable Paver retrofits, Green Roof, and Pavement Removal.
